Indirect Conservation icon  Model species
The Scops owl EEP has four species under its remit: Luzon scops owl (Otus megalotis), Sunda scops owl (Otus lempiji), Indian scops owl (Otus bakkamoena),  Eurasian scops owl (Otus scops). These species will be used as a model species to gain knowledge and experience with keeping them in human care which can then be used to write Best Practise Guidelines and potentially this knowledge and experience can be used in the future for other endangered species of Scops owl.
