European invertebrate conservation

EAZAs Terrestrial Invertebrate Taxon Advisory Group will be working on their Regional Species Plan this year - carefully selecting which species can benefit from ex situ conservation efforts. A special focus will be given to European invertebrates, and some freshwater invertebrates will also be considered.

May 2025 Conservation Snapshot

Looking in the EAZA Conservation Database, we can find that 35 Members recorded support for at least 25 invertebrate species in recent years. Their support ranges from contributing to conservation translocations, but also to creation and protection habitats as well as conservation research across 12 countries.
