In the light of the COVID-19 outbreak being classed as a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation, and in line with guidance from them and other sources, EAZA has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming EAZA Annual Conference 2020. We have been in contact with our host, and we intend to examine solutions that may allow elements of this meeting to proceed remotely by teleconference. We will be in touch with registered delegates to provide further details of how and when we will proceed with these activities and potential refunds.
Dear colleagues and friends
Firstly, I hope all of you, your family and friends are healthy. We all have to face a challenging time during these days. COVID19 makes our all daily life and business very special.
As the host of EAZA Annual Conference 2020, we decided together with the EAZA Council to cancel the event for this year. This decision was reasoned by our responsibility for all our health and safety and to the fact that we all have to deal with many other unexpected effects out of this pandemic.
We, the City of Leipzig and the staff of Zoo Leipzig, are looking forward to seeing you once again. I hope that we all meet again next year in Helsinki.
It was a pleasure to organise this event so far. Great thanks to all responsible parts who put in already a lot of work. Again, please stay healthy and I wish all of you much power for the upcoming months.

Conference delegates and other EAZA Members are once again invited to display relevant posters at the Annual Conference 2020 (with a maximum of 3 posters per Member institution).
Please submit your proposal, including the title, author affiliations and abstract (max. 100 words) to email@example.com. You may also, if already available, submit the actual poster (as a PDF). All submissions will be reviewed and, if accepted, you will be contacted for confirmation. Pleasemake sure to send your accepted poster to firstname.lastname@example.org, so that after the conference the posters can be made available to the Member community in the proceedings library on the EAZA Member Area.
Posters that are accepted for display should be brought in person to Leipzig, or alternatively sent with a delegate that is attending.
All posters should be formatted vertically of standard A2 - portrait (420mm wide by 594mm high); or A1 - portrait (594mm wide by 840mm high). During the conference, poster presenters are responsible for attaching their poster to their assigned poster panel. Poster panels will be arranged numerically. Materials for hanging the posters will be available on site.
To allow easier identification of the author, we suggest you include a photograph (ideally 6 cm x 9 cm) on the poster header. It is also a good idea to pin an envelope to the bottom of the board for the receipt of business cards and messages and/or make mini copies of your poster which can be taken away by other delegates.
