Direct Conservation icon  Insurance
The EAZA population can function as an insurance population for the threatened in situ population of the island of Negros, most likely in combination with the existing ex situ population in Philippines.

The EAZA population can function as a source or back-up population for the ex situ (Negros) population. 
   
Indirect Conservation icon  Fundraising
If it is decided to go for in range ex situ population, the EEP will help in raise funds for Talarak Foundation, which is the NGO involved specifically in the ex situ breeding centers. 

 Education (outside of range)
The EAZA population lends itself to educate EAZA visitors about the effects of climate change on endemic and island species and explain about the biodiversity hotspot of South east Asia/Philippines.
