Shellshock
EAZA Turtle and Tortoise Campaign 2004/5
Priority projects
Initially 14 projects were selected by the Shellshock Campaign Planning Group to receive financial support.
This has been achieved in consultation with the Turtle Conservation Fund (TCF) and the Marine Turtle Research Group (MTRG).
Furthermore EAZA member institutions were able to propose projects for support.

In July 2006, little over 100,000 had already been distributed to various projects. It was decided that the remaining funds would be distributed via the Turtle Conservation Fund (TCF). Kevin Buley, chair of the Shellshock Campaign Planning Group sits on the Executive Board of the TCF ensuring that Shellshock and EAZA interests will be represented at the highest level. The TCF board meets twice each year and selects projects for TCF funding. If projects in line with Shellshock priorities are available, these will be offered Shellshock money rather than TCF core funds.
