EAZA Tiger Campaign 2002/4
Campaign efforts at Dvur Králove Zoo
Zoo Dvur Králové officially started the campaign on 22 November 2002. In January we prepared three educational boards concerning the EAZA Tiger Campaign (e.g. on the status of tigers in the wild). Simultaneously, Dr. Pavel Brandl, coordinator of the campaign for the Czech and Slovakian region, coordinated the Czech translation and distribution of all prepared EAZA materials to UCSZ member zoos, including three posters with the text 'Help to save tigers' written in Czech.
At the entrances we placed small posters to make the visitors aware of this campaign. The Zoo Director chose three places for selling the keyrings: the Zooshop 'Serengeti', the kiosk at the carnivore house and the gallery 'Primeval Ages by Zdenek Burian´s Eyes'.
We tried to provide some information about the Tiger Campaign in each education programme, animal show and name-giving party. An article about the EAZA Tiger Campaign was published in local newspapers. By the end of August 2004 we have distributed 2,900 keyrings and collected € 4.350 to support the Amur Tiger Projects. The Campaign will continue until the end of September 2004.
