The EAZA Tiger Campaign at Lisbon Zoo is not only an important and worthwhile investment effort that resulted in better conditions for the animals, greater awareness of tiger conservation among our visitors and support for tiger in situ conservation, it is also an important team building exercise.
Near the renewed facilities, a 150 m2 exhibition was built to lead the visitors on a trip through the world of tiger conservation. Children can play with a giant puzzle, constructing a beautiful image of a tiger taking a bath in another area. Before finishing the trip, the visitors enter the store of the tiger, where the 21st Century Tiger keyrings and t-shirts are available for sale. Groups of young volunteers help to explain visitors regarding the campaign. Face paintings and other activities are also organised by these volunteers.
