EAZA Tiger Campaign 2002/4
Campaign efforts in Kolmarden Zoo
We are planning an ‘Animal Aid Day' on 1 May 2003 with special attention to tigers and the EAZA Tiger Campaign. About one Euro (10 SEK) of the entrance fee will go directly to the tiger projects. McDonald's is generously supporting this day by including an announcement about Animal Aid Day in their members' newspaper ‘Ronald McDonald and Friends', of which 180,000 copies will be distributed. The McDonald's tablets (what are these?)(1,8 million copies) also contain an announcement about Animal Aid Day.
We will also have a competition at a supermarket ‘ICA' in which participants can win a ticket to Animal Aid Day in Kolmarden.
Artists will make an appearance in front of our dolphinarium on Animal Aid day, and some will go around in the park with donation boxes. Money will also be raised for tiger projects through camel rides, and purchase of coffee, tiger cake and key rings. Activities such as face painting for children and Tiger Talks during the feeding of the tigers will be organised on Animal Aid Day.
We will try to get additional support to the campaign by radio and television programmes on 1 May. Listeners to these programmes can then send an SMS to help protect the tigers. We will focus on tigers throughout the entire season, and hope to raise much money and awareness for the campaign.
