EAZA Tiger Campaign 2002/4

Campaign efforts in Fota Wildlife Park

Although Fota Wildlife Park has no tigers,
we are generating interest in the
                                           campaign by explaining how tiger
                                           conservation can benefit other wildlife
and people. We apply several standards
                                           to ensure that conservation projects
merit our support and the EAZA Tiger
Campaign easily meets these criteria. We
link our campaign to Asian wildlife
                                           (lion-tailed macaque, gibbons, peafowl)
                                           that we do keep.
                                                          Our campaign concentrates on
                                                          fundraising. Information
                                                          posters support two collection
                                                          boxes near our main entrance.
                                                          We explain how positive steps
can be made in conservation if
                                                          sufficient funds are available.
We are also holding a raffle for
two oil paintings of tigers by
                                                          wildlife artist Tammara Casey.
