'Save the Rhinos, the EAZA Rhino Campaign 2005/6' was officially launched on 7 September 2005 at the Annual Conference in Bath and ended with an official closing session at the EAZA Annual Conference in Madrid on 4 October 2006.

Many EAZA member institutions (and some non-EAZA members) joined the campaign and organised education and awareness activities and raised funds. A total amount of €632,711.15 was raised, almost doubling the original target of €350,000.
