EAZA's more than 400 Member institutions are based in 47 countries throughout Europe, Western Asia and beyond. Employing leading specialists in animal care, conservation, education, research and other domains, they place the EAZA community at the forefront of modern zoo and aquarium management.  

By ensuring that our Member zoos and aquariums achieve and maintain the highest standards of care and population management for the species in they care, EAZA also empowers European (and other) citizens to learn about and contribute to global biodiversity conservation goals.
