At the start of the campaign, twenty projects were selected to receive campaign funding. Projects have been selected to ensure an interesting and representative example of the conservation activities taking place on Madagascar, each with a different focus (e.g. education, community involvement, habitat protection, research).
The twenty selected projects will receive a total amount of €361,645. The Planning Group is planning to send out the first funds to these projects in the final months of 2007. With the preliminary result of more than €450,000, it is already clear that more funds are available. €25,000 of these extra funds have already been used for the Cyclone Appeal and the Campaign Planning Group is investigating other suitable projects for the remaining funds.
