Lemur camp, night movie and more in Mulhouse Zoo
In June a joint activity with a nearby school was organised. Ten school classes sold bananas for a Malagasy association that is involved in the construction of new schools in Madagascar. In return the zoo received drawings of Malagasy children that will be exhibited in the zoo this Summer.

A percentage income of the sales of bananas was set aside for the EAZA Madagascar Campaign. The two classes that sold most bananas received free entrance to the zoo and participated in the lemur observation camp.

On 19 June 2007, His Royal Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco visited Mulhouse Zoo to sponsor the zoo's Madagascar Campaign and its soft toy mascot the blue- eyesdlemur Aïna! It was a very special day for Mulhouse Zoo and generated much interest for the campaign.

Like real scientists, children can participate in the Mulhouse Zoo "Lemur observation camp" (Camp d'observation des lémuriens) on every Wednseday during the Summer months. A tent is set up in the zoo which functions as "base camp", and as shelter in case of bad weather (which seems to be quite often this Summer). Here children are equipped with binoculars, camp leaflet, wooden pen and a picnic chair to get started with their observation work. The participants receive a list of lemur behaviours that they can register, e.g. scent marking, food consumption etc. All children that successfully participate in the lemur camp receive a certificate with photo souvenir. The participation fees are going to the EAZA Madagascar Campaign.

A night movie ceremony was organised on 26 June. The famous cartoon movie "Madagascar" was projected on a large screen in the zoo. Unfortunately the evening was very cold and rainy but still the activity was a success.
