EAZA Bushmeat Campaign
Handing over of the petition
On 24 January 2002,
the EAZA Bushmeat Petition was handed over by Bryan Carroll to
the chairman of the EP Committee on Petitions, Vitaliano
Gemelli. During this event, a
photoshoot was organised at which all members of the EP Committee on Petitions were present as well as representatives of EAZA and
IFAW.

The EP Committee on Petitions will now officially ask the European Commission to
respond to the demands put forward by EAZA, and wants to have a
response by Autumn 2002. In the mean time EAZA and IFAW will continue
to lobby and see to it that our demands/questions are dealt with
seriously.
