Kiss a frog at Plock Zoo
 On 14 February, Plock Zoo (Poland) joined the global 'Kiss a Frog' activity. This was the first special event for the Year of Frog Campaign at Plock Zoo, and two more are planned for April and June 2008. The zoo hosted about 100 children with their families, as the day fell in the middle of two weeks of winter holidays.
The 'Kiss a Frog' day consisted of a two-hour event for children, with activities like:
a lecture and discussions about amphibians and their crisis situation, the
2008 Year of the Frog Campaign, what we can do to help
amphibians, information about the zoo's programme of active protection
of indigenous amphibian species;
an art and knowledge competition;
singing songs and reading poems about frogs;
making observations of some frog species and their tad poles;
taking pictures with a puppet frog;
distributing leaflets concerning the 2008 Year of the Frog Campaign.
