EAZA Annual Conference
Verona, 22-25 September 2010

EAZA's Annual Conference in 2010 will be hosted by Parco Natura Viva, which is located in the Italian town of Bussolengo, in the province of Verona. The conference itself will be based in and around the city of Verona, a World Heritage Site and one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations. An exciting post-conference tour taking in both the city of Venice and a wetland nature reserve has also been made available. The conference has the full endorsement of the Commune of Verona.

Registrations are now open and accommodation can be booked in a range of hotels located around the city centre. The conference will take place at VeronaFiere, a dedicated conference and exhibition centre on the outskirts of the city.

Wireless internet access will be available free-of-charge throughout the conference venue for all delegates.

Travel & Accommodation

The conference organiser has block booked rooms in a number of hotels located around the city. See below for a customised map showing the location of the selected hotels and key conference venues.

Rates are per room, per night and include breakfast and VAT. Prices range from €95- for a single room in a 3 star hotel up to €272- for a double room in a 5 star hotel. Download the PDF below for more information.

You will be able to reserve accommodation in one of the conference hotels only after you have registered for the conference. Your registration code will be required to make the booking. If you have already registered, but have not yet booked your accommodation, you can go directly to the booking system here.

By car
Coming from motorway A22: exit Verona Nord; cross Tangenziale Sud following Vicenza direction and go towards Verona, exit n.6 Alpo, follow road signs for “Fiera”; distance: 7 Km.
Coming from motorway A4: exit Verona Sud, follow road signs for “Fiera”; distance: 1,5 Km.

By air
Valerio Catullo Airport in Verona-Villafranca is conveniently located approximately 10 km far from the conference centre(around 10 minutes away) and is served by daily connections from principal Italian and European cities. The airport is connected to Verona Porta Nuova railway station by a shuttle bus that leaves every 20 minutes; the station is situated 2 km far from VeronaFiere and about 2 km from the city centre.

By rail
North-south and east-west railways trace the motorway structure. The most important routes are served by high speed trains that allow connections to the main cities in Veneto region in a short time.
The main railway station is Verona Porta Nuova, that is reachable from Veronafiere in few minutes both with bus (ATV route 83) and taxi.

Registration

If you are already signed in and still don't see the button, contact eoghan.osullivan[at]eaza.net. EAZA members that haven't registered for the new website yet can find instructions under Member Area. Registration is open now to EAZA Members - others interested in attending should contact sietske.veenman[at]eaza.net.

Fees

The registration fee does not include accommodation costs. Fees have been calculated to cover the costs of venue hire and set-up, lunches, coffee breaks and conference materials.

The social events (icebreaker, visit to ParcoNaturaViva zoo with barbecue, farewell dinner) are offered courtesy of ParcoNaturaViva. Accompanying partners may attend these social events for an additional fee (see below), to be paid during the registration process. EAZA Members and partners are welcome to visit ParcoNaturaViva zoo freely at any time during the event.

*The "early bird" rate is available only to EAZA members and members of WAZA-affiliated regional associations as well as members of organisations with which EAZA has a formal liaison.

Payments can be made online via credit card, or alternatively by direct bank transfer. Both Visa and Mastercard are accepted via PayPal. Credit card payments will incur an additional 2.5% processing fee. All fees include 20% VAT.

NOTE: Group registrations are possible via the online regsitration system. The fees for all registrants in the group will be added together and charged to one of the registrants. If different members of the group are paying individually (for example with different credit cards), you must create separate registrations for each.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees
In case of cancellation by August 21st, 50% of the amount paid will be refunded. In case of cancellation after August 21st 2010, there will be no refund. To cancel your registration, send an email to info[at]cogest.info and provide all of your registration details. Cancellation will be accepted only in writing.

The substitution of another participant from the same institution is permitted, but the new participant will have to take part in the same social events as the replaced participant. The invoice already issued cannot be modified. Any change in the registration details involving a credit note or the issue of a new invoice with different heading will cost €36,00 VAT included.

Hotels
If a participant cancels his hotel reservation or wishes to modify his booking, it is mandatory to send an email to info[at]cogest.info indicating all the registration and reservation details. If a participant does not communicate anything, he will be subject to a fee equivalent to the full stay. Cancellation will be accepted only in writing.
