Reasons to attend the ISIS Users’ Conference

The ISIS Users' Conference will happen just before the EAZA Annual Conference on 24-25 September 2012 in Innsbruck, Austria. This will be a great opportunity for EAZA member staff to attend not one but two (!) conferences while saving on travel expenses and time.

Conference attendees will be the first to see the new developments that are planned for the ZIMS application. The ISIS Users' Conference will give ISIS members opportunities to:

  • Get hands-on, face-to-face training and technical support on ISIS software and applications
  • Gain Insight and provide input into further development of the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS) application
  • Participate in discussions of basic animal records techniques
  • Network with zoological professionals from around the world

The main focus of the ISIS Users' Conference is to offer ISIS members training on basic records keeping through use of ISIS software. Compared to the standard online and premium trainings this event will also offer participants high quality training, but with a more hands-on approach and for lower costs, so Register Now! Space for this conference will be limited to 200 members, and June is the last month for early bird pricing!

Dr. Jörg Junhold will open the ISIS Users' Conference. As a former ISIS Board member, Manager and Director of Zoo Leipzig and President of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), Dr. Junhold will speak about the importance of zoos and aquariums in meeting preservation objectives for wildlife populations. The ISIS community and knowledgebase will play an increasingly important role in assuring that we have the knowledge to make a positive impact in wildlife population sustainability.
