The Director of the Paris Zoolgical garden (PZP) is placed under the authority of the Direction of the Department of Botanical and Zoological gardens (DJBZ) of the National Natural History Museum.
By way of delegation of authority from the General Director of the Museum, he manages the PZP, ensures representation towards private partners, and oversees compliance with the terms of the public-private partnership (PPP).
He is in charge of the administrative and financial management of the Zoological garden. He is assisted by the animal keeper, in charge of technical and scientific issues.
In close collaboration with the Department Director, he defines the commercial strategy and the promotion policy of the institution and ensures the development of the world-wide reputation thereof. Communication policy is carried out in coordination with the Direction in charge of Communication.
