Re: Joint hoofstock mid-year TAG meeting – Antelope and giraffe TAG, Cattle and camelid TAG, Sheep and goat TAG, and Rhino TAG. 25th – 28th June 2012 at
Marwell Wildlife, Hampshire, UK
In conjunction with the antelope and giraffe TAG, cattle and camelid TAG, sheep and goat TAG, and rhino TAG chairs, I would like to invite you to the 2012 mid-year joint hoofstock TAG meeting at Marwell Wildlife on the 25th to 28th of June.
As many of us are involved in several TAGs we hope that the joint meeting will not only save time and money, but also enable the TAGs to work more effectively together. The successful joint TAG meeting hosted by Zoo Hannover in 2011 provided us with the opportunity to tackle some of the connected issues of policy, population sustainability, and management strategies, and we hope to emulate this at the meeting at Marwell in June.
Enclosed is a registration form, information sheet, travel information and meeting schedule. If you wish to attend the meeting, please complete and return the registration form to me as soon as possible, and book your rooms at the Marwell Hotel. The hotel is not part of Marwell Wildlife, so please make your reservations directly with the hotel.
There are a number of important anniversaries taking place across the UK, and in the local area, in 2012. It is the 200th celebration of Charles Dickens’s birth (born in Portsmouth 23 miles from Marwell), the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic (the Titanic set sail from Southampton, 12 miles from Marwell), the Queen’s diamond jubilee, the Olympic games in London, and Marwell’s 40th anniversary. There are some links for further information on the enclosed information sheet if you wish to extend your stay in the area to take advantage of these events.
